For many years I've had an interest in photography. A lack of resources and time had kept me from pursuing it seriously until a friend asked for help. She wanted someone to come take pictures of her live belly dance performances. I began to cultivate both an appreciation for the art form as well as skills as an event photographer.
Over the last several years I have been photographing dance events as well as roller derby. Both types of events have been pushing me to advance my skills as a photographer. I enjoy learning new ways to use the space available in these events and experimenting with different photographic styles.
Not content to just shoot live events, I recently began doing studio work. Attending a number of workshops in the Toronto area being put on by some fabulous photographers, I am working on developing my own style.
I have had work published in Belly Dance magazines, major Toronto daily newspapers, promotional materials and websites.
As per the norm these days, I've got a wee bit of a social media presence. These are a few of the places where you can find me work as well.
I have recently put up some of my work for sale on Society6. Check it out or share with friends!
